Amaal Arafa Reveals Why She Withdrew from “Colombia”

Al-Taj News – Syrian actress Amaal Arafa revealed the reason for withdrawing from participation in the new drama series “Colombia,” which is scheduled to be aired during the upcoming 2027 Ramadan drama season and directed by her compatriot Rasha Sharbaji.

Amaal Arafa confirmed in media statements that her withdrawal from starring in “Colombia” was due to her inability to coordinate the series’ filming schedule with her other artistic commitments.

She added that the delayed start of preparations for the series made it difficult for her to participate in the production, prompting her to withdraw out of concern that it would be difficult to coordinate her participation in the series with her other artistic commitments.

It is worth noting that Amaal Arafa and Rasha Sharbaji have formed an artistic duo in five previous drama productions, the latest of which was the series “The City’s Kitchen,” which aired during the previous Ramadan drama season.

Meanwhile, the makers of the Syrian drama series “Colombia” are continuing preparations for the project, which consists of 30 episodes, in preparation for filming to begin soon in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The announcement of the launch of the new drama project by director Rasha Sharbaji had previously included the nomination of a number of Syrian artistic figures, including stars who had previously worked with Sharbaji, while actor Abbas Al-Nouri officially joined the series as the first actor to be confirmed as part of its cast.
